SUMMARY:2026 Spring History Lecture: Radioactive Dixie A Nuclear History of the American South
DESCRIPTION:The School of Arts\, Humanities\, and Social Sciences will sponsor its Annual History Lecture on Thursday\, April 16\, 2026 at 6 pm in Jobe Hall Auditorium. The speaker will be Dr. Caroline Peyton\, Associate Professor of Teaching at the University of Memphis. Dr. Peyton earned her PhD in History from the University of South Carolina. She authored Radioactive Dixie: A Nuclear History of the American South\, published by the University of Georgia Press in 2025. Dr. Peyton’s book will serve as the basis for her lecture on April 16th.
