DESCRIPTION:The School of Arts\, Humanities\, and Social Sciences will sponsor its Annual History Lecture on Thursday\, April 16\, 2026 at 6 pm in Jobe Hall Auditorium. The speaker will be Dr. Caroline Peyton\, Associate Professor of Teaching at the University of Memphis. Dr. Peyton earned her PhD in History from the University of South Carolina. She authored Radioactive Dixie: A Nuclear History of the American South\, published by the University of Georgia Press in 2025. Dr. Peyton’s book will serve as the basis for her lecture on April 16th.

DESCRIPTION:Held every spring in Ewing Hall and the Jacob Conference Center\, the Woodall Conference brings together counselors\, social workers\, and other helping professionals from across the Delta and surrounding states. The 2026 conference will feature a dynamic keynote speaker addressing a timely topic in today’s mental health landscape\, along with up to 40 breakout sessions (5–6 workshops per hour) tailored for Licensed Professional Counselors\, Licensed School Counselors\, Licensed Social Workers\, and other helping professionals. Attendees can earn up to 6 continuing education units while engaging in a wide range of mental health topics. In addition to advancing professional growth\, the conference provides valuable networking opportunities and showcases DSU Counselor Education students through professional speaking experiences
