Wheeler Parker Jr\, will sign copies of his memoir\, “A Few Days Full of Trouble: Revelations on the Journey to Justice for My Cousin and Best Friend\, Emmett TIll.” Reverend Wheeler Parker Jr. is pastor and district superintendent of the Argo Temple Church of God in Christ in Summit\, Illinois\, the church built by Alma Carthan\, grandmother of Emmett Till. DESCRIPTION:Astro Camp participants will enjoy a daily planetarium show in our Wiley Planetarium led by Dr. Maria Weber\, multiple stem activities and builds in the areas of Heliophysics\, Earth Science\, Astrophysics\, Planetary Science\, Space telescopes and MORE! The goal of Astro Camp is to give ALL students the chance to get involved in and experience science\, technology\, engineering and math to inspire future astronauts engineers to learn about space with NASA unique activities.\nCamp is offered to children in 1st-6th grades. Camp cost is $110 and includes a camp t-shirt\, supplies and snack. DESCRIPTION:We are eager to announce that the Summer Youth Leadership Initiative will be returning to Delta State University on July 9th -14th. This summer program is an extension of the work of the Delta Proud Youth Initiative at Delta State University\, which aims to improve education for young African American males in the Mississippi Delta. Delta Proud is committed to supporting locally driven\, community level partnerships that work to improve school climate in educational institutions from kindergarten to post-secondary education.
