SUMMARY:INHERITANCE - Documentary Film Showing
DESCRIPTION:Filmed over the course of 11 years\, the film follows Curtis\, a bright and hopeful 12-year-old boy who grows up in rural Ohio surrounded by poverty\, love and hardship while every adult in his family battles addiction. \nThe film raises awareness and fosters understanding about the challenges faced by children and families caught in cycles of poverty\, intergenerational trauma\, and substance use disorder. This showing is FREE of charge and the community is welcome. The screening will be followed by a thought-provoking conversation with the filmmakers. \nThe filmmakers are Matt Moyer and Amy Toensing\, award-winning photo journalists whose work has been featured by top outlets including National Geographic Magazine\, The New York Times\, The Wall Street Journal and PBS for over 20 years. \nThis event is made possible by the support of SAMHSA Communities Talk 2024 Program.  \nCheck out the trailer: https://vimeo.com/924704951/ea2ff13f75
