CLEVELAND, Miss.—Two Delta State University students have landed coveted internships through the FedEx Services Internal Audit Internship program.

Elizabeth Havens of Yazoo, Miss.

Delta State seniors Elizabeth Havens, a Business Administration/Marketing major from Yazoo, Miss., and Matthew LeJeune, a Computer Information Systems major from Memphis, Tenn., have been selected as Junior Audit Associate interns with FedEx for the Spring 2022 semester.

Each semester, FedEx recruits student interns throughout the region to serve as internal auditors tasked with performing operational, financial and IT reviews to provide assurance and help improve the company’s operations, processes and controls.

FedEx’s interns are treated as full-time employees and are responsible for leading interviews, asking questions, documenting processes and completing audit testing steps with help from experienced auditors.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to intern with FedEx,” said Havens. “Throughout the internship, I look forward to learning more about the internal audit field as well as experience of working for a large corporation.”

Matthew LeJeune of Memphis, Tenn.

“I was very relieved to find out that I got the FedEx Internal Auditing position”, shared LeJeune.

“I am looking forward to learning more about internal auditing and working on team projects at the corporate level.”

Applicants must undergo a rigorous selection process and meet certain academic requirements, including a 3.0 GPA.

As interns, both Havens and LeJeune will learn about various areas of the business from knowledgeable professionals through education, teaching and advising.
