The families operated the Baconhame Plantation. 1811 \u2013 1888.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/PDFFiles\/Archives\/BellDavidS.pdf\" target=\"new\">Bell, David S. Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The David S. Bell Collectin contains reels of home film footage during the 1966, 1967, 1968 period from Mobile to New Orleans, but the majority of it is the Biloxi\/Gulfport area.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BishopFWsrCollection.doc\">Bishop, F.W. Sr. \u201cWattie\u201d Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains a paper written by Dr. John Thornell on F.W. \u201cWattie\u201d Sr. Bishop\u2019s reign as Cleveland Mayor during the period 1951 until 1969.\u00a0 It also contains an oral history of his life, as well as, a magaine article and picture submitted by Mayor Bishop about the Cleveland Christmas lights.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/PDFFiles\/Archives\/BlakemanMaryCollection.pdf\" target=\"new\">Blakeman, Mary Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Mary Blakeman Collection consists of programs and stamps from the DSU Mississippi and the Marshall Plan Commemorative Stamp Ceremony dated October 27, 1997.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BoldingSallyCollection.doc\" target=\"new\">Bolding, Sally Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Sally Bolding Collection consists of photos of the Edward Hill Family, and other miscellaneous other photos, including her father\u2019s rice operation and irrigation.It contains copies of portions of Mrs. Bolding\u2019s books, unproofed dust jacket and a leather pouch inscribed \u201cJEP Hill\u2019s private papers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BolivarCoDrainageDistrictMinutes.doc\">Bolivar County Drainage District Minutes<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This collection consists of the six Minute Books of several Bolivar County Drainage Districts during the period Dec. 12, 1922 through June 30, 1945.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BolivarCountyBoardOfPoliceMinutebook.doc\">Bolivar County Board of Police Minutebook<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This collection consists of one Bolivar County Board of Police Minutebook dated 1836 \u2013 1856 which includes the first meeting of the county board whereby it lays out the meeting place, division of the county into districts, appointment of judges, and the setting of an election date for the election of countywide elective officers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BolivarCountyHistoricalSociety.doc\" target=\"new\">Bolivar County Historical Society<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Bolivar County Historical Records Collection contains information about the Society since its inception in 1972, correspondence, financial, board minutes and news clippings. It also contains detailed information about the Burrus House, Bolivar County\u2019s only antebellum mansion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BolivarCountyLibrary.doc\" target=\"new\">Bolivar County Library Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Bolivar County Library Collection (Director Ronnie Wise) contains a 1991 Archie comic book designed to promote literacy in Mississippi.\u00a0 It also contains miscellaneous libary items and two photos.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BolivarCountyPlatBook.doc\">Bolivar County Plat Book<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains a large hard-bound book inscribed \u201cTownship Plats, Everman and Stone, Bolivar County, Miss.\u201d\u00a0 It includes approximately 25 plats surveyed in Bolivar County from 1830 to 1848.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BolivarCountyTaxBook.doc\">Bolivar County Tax Book<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains one Bolivar County Tax Book that shows monthly tax collections from taxpayers during the period October 1892 through January 1893.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BollingRichardDr..doc\" target=\"new\">Bolling, Dr. Richard Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection consists of materials collected by Dr. Richard A. Bolling, First Presbyterian Church pastor, Cleveland, Mississippi (1926-1962).\u00a0 Files include programs and news clippings of weddings, funerals and memorials.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BouchillonBarryCollection.doc\">Bouchillon, Barry Collection <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Barry Bouchillon Collection consists of a book The Timeless River: A Portrait of Life on the Mississippi 1850 \u2013 1900, copyright 1981 by Burny Myrick. It contains Myrick\u2019s drawings, paintings, and stories of life on the Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/PDFFiles\/Archives\/M100_BoydWaltersBobo_Collection.pdf\" target=\"new\">Boyd-Walters-Bobo Family Papers<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Boyd-Walters-Bobo Family Papers contains papers from sisters Dr. Eleanor Boyd Walters and Ruth Boyd Bobo.\u00a0 They were born and reared in Gunnison, MS.\u00a0 Dr. Eleanor Walters taught for many years at Delta State.\u00a0 Ruth Bobo had a teaching degree but retired and was better known for her dedication and work to the Farm Bureau Federation.\u00a0 She was married Jim Ed Bobo who was a Bolivar County Supervisor for many years.\u00a0 In addition to genealogical information about the family and family photos, the papers contain many photos of the early agricultural life of the Delta, life on the Mississippi River, beginnings of the levee system, flooding in the Delta, and WWI letters from their brother.\u00a0 There are several scrap books detailing the political career of Jim Ed Bobo, and numerous news clippings of interest to the sisters.\u00a0 There are books, professional letters, diplomas and certificates, material associated with the masonic lodge of Gunnison, and African art that was collected during travels.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/BrandEulalieWilson.doc\" target=\"new\">Brand, Eulalie Wilson<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection consists of a DSU belt buckle worn by GI Wayne E. Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Charles W. Capps, Jr. Collection contains correspondence, news clippings, and numerous other papers, plaques and awards from Capps\u2019 career as District 28 Mississippi House of Representatives from which he served from 1976 to 2005.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CarrAndrew.doc\" target=\"new\">Carr, Andrew Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Andrew Carr Collection contains letters from a soldier, James Le Barnes, to members of the Carr Family during the civil war in which he describes life as a soldier.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CastleGladys%20M256.doc\">Castle, Gladys C.<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Gladys Castle Collection contains documents and photographs during Miss Castle\u2019s long tenure at Delta State University.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CastlesIraCFindingAid.doc\">Castles, Dr. Ira C. Papers<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Dr. Ira C. Castles was a Professor Economics at Delta State from 1937 to 1978.\u00a0 This collection contains his several volumes of his poetry, as well as, college papers and his thesis.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CascioPhilip.doc\" target=\"new\">Cascio, Philip Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains a manuscript about WWII and several military related magazines.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/ChineseBaptistChurch.doc\" target=\"new\">Chinese Baptist Church Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Many photo\u2019s of special events of the Chinese Baptish Church, listing of Church members, hymnals, and miscellaneous other articles.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/ClarkMrsGrace.doc\" target=\"new\">Clark, Mrs. Charles W. Jr. (Grace) Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains three diaries kept by Charles W. Clark, Sr. during his travels to England and Scotland in 1914.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/ClevChamberCommerce.doc\">Cleveland Chamber of Commerce Papers<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains scrapbooks, maps, photographs, and miscellaneous documents that were kept by the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce. 1953 \u2013 1981.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/ClevelandEnterprise1908.doc\">Cleveland Enterprise 1908<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection consists of the Cleveland Enterprise newspapers from February 27, 1908 through December 31, 1908.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CraddockSteven.doc\" target=\"new\">Craddock, Steven Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains a Bolivar County, Mississippi Election Return for Brigadier General dated November 1, 1841.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CranfordDrSammyPapers.doc\">Cranford, Dr. Sammy Papers<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Dr. Sammy Cranford Papers contains information about National Archives, Mississippi Archives, Delta State, but primarily information about\u00a0his\u00a0research work on the \u00a0Fernwood Columbus and Gulf Railroad and thesis papers.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CruseSueGordonCollection.doc\">Cruse, Sue Gordon Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Sue Gordon Cruse Collection contains 31 Commercial Appeal newspapers ranging in dates from 1925 to 1941.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/ColeDonnieJudy.doc\" target=\"new\">Cole, Donnie and Judy Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection consists of 17 yearbooks from Glen Allan High School, Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/CroweMilburnCollection.doc\" target=\"new\">Crowe, Milburn Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Milburn Crowe Collection contains historical information about the City of Mound Bayou, Mississippi, that was founded by slaves.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/PDFFiles\/Archives\/The-Jerry-Dallas-Delta-Cooperative-Farm-Collection.pdf\">The Jerry Dallas Delta Cooperative Farm Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This collection contains many sources that Dr. Dallas, History professor at Delta Sate, used for his research on cooperative farming in the Delta. 1936 \u2013 1987<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/DaughtersOfAmericanRevolution.doc\" target=\"new\">Daughters of the American Revolution<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains the yearbooks, annual proceedings, reports, and magazines of the DAR during the period 1931 through 1999.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/DeltaKappaGammaIotaChap.doc\" target=\"new\">Delta Kappa Gamma, Iota Chapter<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains one scrapbook of the Delta kappa Gamma, Iota Chapter during the period 1963 \u2013 1965.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/PDFFiles\/Archives\/Delta-Council-Collection.pdf\">Delta Council Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The collection contains various materials collected since the Delta Council\u2019s beginning. Dr. Sidney Eckert was a former professor of Business at Delta State University. Walker Collection consists of a 1940 Sterling Department Store salepaper and a 1983 issue of \u201cMississippi Supervisor\u201d magazine whereby Bolivar County was featured.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/PDFFiles\/Archives\/Pete-Walker-Collection.pdf\">Pete Walker Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Consist of photographs, slides and negatives of Delta life taken by Pete Walker and Bill MaCaslin in the early 1970s.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WaltRebeccaDillman.doc\" target=\"new\">Walt, Rebecca Dillman Diary<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains photocopies of the diary of Rebecca Dillman Walt during the period 1854 to 1857.\u00a0 The diary chronicles the everyday life of an upper middle class woman of the mid 1800\u2019s.\u00a0 She describes her sewing, visiting, attending church, and her readings on self-improvement and religion.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WarfieldMaryCarson.doc\" target=\"new\">Warfield, Mary Carson<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Mary Carson Warfield Papers includes a Civil War Commission for her husband, Elisha Warfield, Certificate of Membership for Mary Carson Warfiled to the United Daughters of the Confederacy, \u00a0unpublished novels, personal correspondence.\u00a0 Her daughter was Florence Warfield Sillers, wife of Walter Sillers of Rosedale.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WardLydeCarson.doc\" target=\"new\">Ward, Lyde Carson Scrapbook<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection consists of a scrapbook that belonged to Mrs. Lyde Carson Ward, sister of Mary Carson Warfield.\u00a0 The scrapbook consists of news articles collected over a period 1875 to 1900, many from the St. Louis Republic.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WestDeltaChapterAmericanRedCross.doc\">West Delta Chapter of the American Red Cross<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The West Delta Chapter of the American Red Cross Papers contains the reports, minutes, news clippings, photographs and other documents of the organization headquartered in Greenville, MS.\u00a0 It also contains the history of the chapter, including information about its directors and key members,\u00a0as well as disaster work information and\u00a0fund raising events.\u00a0\u00a0There is also information about the Gray Ladies and Red Cross hospital recreation activities across the United States and Japan collected by Miss Hazel Breland, who served Red Cross for many years.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WickensDavid.doc\">Wickens, David<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The David Wickens Collection contains one Delta State athletic jacket.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WigginsPapers.doc\" target=\"new\">Wiggins Papers<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Wiggins Papers consist of cards and letters written mainly from military personnel to Mrs. Sylvia Wiggins during the war.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WilliamsHarryFamilyHistory.doc\">Williams, Harry Family History<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Harry Williams Family History is a collection of Cleveland Enterprise newsclippings and film for the period 1899 to 1904 that contains information about Harry Pelham Williams and his family.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WilliamsMrsNell.doc\" target=\"new\">Williams, Mrs. Nell<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains 1960, 1961, and 1965 copies of Delta State College Newspaper \u201cMiss Delta\u201d a silhouette of H.L. Nowell, postcard \u201cRaising Wheat on Campus\u201d, and photocopy of The Mill.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WilsonCleoneTranum.doc\" target=\"new\">Wilson, Cleone Tranum Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Cleone Tranum Wilson Collection contains handwritten granduation invitation\/card for the 1928 graduating class of Delta State.\u00a0 It also contains a 1947 group photo of the Delta State Home Management Program.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WilsonDanny.doc\" target=\"new\">Wilson, Danny Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This Collection consists of a book on electricity and a Delta State College Catalog and Divisions of Instruction dated 1958-59.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WintersJames.doc\" target=\"new\">Winters, James Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection consists of a record \u201cFarmers Prayer\u201d recorded by W.D. \u201cDoc\u201d Griffin.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/World%20War%20II.doc\" target=\"new\">World War II Educational Research Project<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection was a DSU Advanced Research Writing Project that focused on World War II veterans and the lives of the people on the home front during World War II.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/WyattKentRoger.doc\" target=\"new\">Wyatt, Kent and Robert Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Robert and Kent Wyatt Collection contains a reel of film of 1947 DSU\/MSU Southern Tennis Tournament and an outdoor reception which includes DSU President Kethley.\u00a0 It also contains a photo of the 1948 2nd grade class of Hill Demonstration School as well as other DSTC related photos.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/YatesFamilyPapers.doc\">Yates Family Papers<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This collection contains the personal papers of the Yates Family of Shelby, Mississippi\u00a01941-1945.\u00a0Included are photos of Cleveland and Shelby and the history of Shelby, First Baptist Church of Shelby\u00a0and the Shelby Library.\u00a0 There is information about the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Daughters of the American Colonists, the Governor Winthrop Sargent Chapter of Cleveland, Mississippi, a\u00a0Horse and Pony Show sponsored by the Cleveland Rotary Club.\u00a0This collection also contains four volumes of Mississippi History.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltastate.edu\/docs\/capps_archives\/Zeigel-Winter.doc\">Zeigel-Winters\u00a0Collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Zeigel-Winters Collection contains\u00a0numerous items that give information relative to the life and work of Dr. William H. Zeigel, who was the first academic Dean at the Delta State Teachers College during the period 1925 through 1947.\u00a0 Included in this collection are papers written by William Zeigel concerning overview of Bolivar County schools dated 1926, a 1934 paper in relation to DSC teacher training, and a Purview of Delta State College which reviews and compares Delta State to other schools.\u00a0 Also included are building dedications, and 50th Anniversary Homecoing Program and a folder that highlights others at Delta State including Jim Broom, Mary E.
