spacing=&#8221;default&#8221; tab_color=&#8221;Accent-Color&#8221;][tab icon_family=&#8221;none&#8221; title=&#8221;CARES Act Funding&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1740773999132-9&#8243; id=&#8221;1740773999132-0&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<h2>CARES Act Funding<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]As part of the CARES Act: Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, Delta State University has received $1,262,219.00 to assist students who encountered campus disruptions due to COVID-19.\u00a0 These grant funds do not need to be repaid nor will they impact your eligibility for future federal financial aid (such as Pell Grant, federal student loans, or federal work study).\u00a0 The funds will be refunded directly to the student and not be applied towards an outstanding account balance. Refunds will be processed via check or direct deposit, depending upon your current refund method with Student Business Services.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility Requirements:\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to qualify for assistance, students must meet several eligibility components.\u00a0 Listed below are the specific stipulations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students must have been enrolled in classes prior to March 13<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<li>Students enrolled in ONLY online classes\/programs prior to March 13<sup>th<\/sup> are NOT eligible.<\/li>\n<li>Students must be eligible for Title IV aid, which means the student fulfills the following requirements:\n<ul>\n<li>Have submitted a 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 FAFSA application (<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out\">studentaid.gov<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen<\/li>\n<li>Have a valid Social Security number<\/li>\n<li>Be registered with Selective Service \u2013 <em>males only<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sss.gov\/register\/\">sss.gov<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Have a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED), or its equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Be fully-admitted and degree-seeking in a program of study<\/li>\n<li>Maintained Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for financial aid eligibility<\/li>\n<li>Have not defaulted on student loans or owe a refund on a federal grant program<\/li>\n<li>Must not have any unresolved drug convictions<\/li>\n<li>For spring 2020, approximately 1,461 students are eligible for Title IV aid.\u00a0 For fall 2020, approximately 1,531 student are eligible for Title IV aid. (Number of eligible students changed due to revised specifications of Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund-Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Allowable Expenses and Documentation: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students may have incurred unexpected expenses due to COVID-19. Examples may include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel<\/li>\n<li>Living expenses (rent, utilities, and etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Childcare<\/li>\n<li>Technology<\/li>\n<li>Loss of income<\/li>\n<li>Medical<\/li>\n<li>Food<\/li>\n<li>Miscellaneous needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In order to account for the unexpected, please provide documentation to validate your expense(s).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This may include receipts, bills, or etc. Award amounts vary based on expenses and documentation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Application Link:\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have incurred any unexpected expenses due to campus closing for COVID-19 and you meet all of the eligibility requirements as listed above, please submit the electronic application which was emailed to your Okramail account on May 11<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 For fall 2020, students who met the required criteria were emailed an application link on September 1st.\u00a0 The deadline to apply was October 1st.\u00a0 You must use your Okramail email account to access and submit the application.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Application Review and Award Notification:\u00a0 <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Upon submission of your application, you will receive an automated acknowledgement.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be reviewed within fourteen business days.<\/p>\n<p>If additional information is requested,
