Emergency Text Messaging
An emergency text will be sent in cases of extreme weather, life-threatening incidents on campus, or important immediate changes that affect the entire University.
Beginning in the fall semester 2015, the Okra Alert system will gather all students’ cell phone numbers (if provided) upon enrollment. Anyone wishing to verify their enrollment in Okra Alert should go to:
- DSU Online Services
- ‘Personal Information’
- ‘Enroll in OkraAlert (Emergency Text Message Notification)’
If anyone wishes to “OPT OUT” of the system, press X (delete) by the phone number.
All faculty and staff employees will need to enroll into the system manually using the same prompts as listed above.
Delta State’s Guide to Campus Safety covers topics like authority, crime prevention, drugs and alcohol, sexual assault, weapons on campus, cell phone use, and emergency procedures.
Bicycle Theft Prevention – Operation I.D.
Operation I.D. is a program to assist students in identifying and recording property in case of theft. Bicycle registration is available to students who bring bicycles on campus. There is no decal for a bicycle, but the information will be kept on file in case of theft.
Once you have logged in and filled out the personal information at the link provided below, you may register your bicycle under the “Vehicle Info” section.
