Pageant Board

Delta State University Pageant Board is a recognized student organization open to those students who complete the organization membership application and are selected by the Advisor and student leader(s). Under the direction of the Student Government Association, the Board hosts two pageants: Miss DSU and Most Beautiful, held in the Fall and Spring semesters, respectively.

Miss DSU

Miss Delta State University (Miss DSU) is a Student Government Association sponsored event to crown one female participant who scores the highest in the following catergories:

  • Swimwear
  • Talent
  • Evening Gown
  • Interview
  • On-stage Question

Miss DSU is a subsidiary competition to Miss Mississippi.

Chesney Mardis Crowned Miss Delta State University 2019

Exercise science graduate student Chesney Mardis was crowned Miss Delta State University 2019 at a pageant held on Oct. 19, 2018, in the Bologna Performing Arts Center on campus.

She sang Loren Allred’s “Never Enough” for the talent portion. Her platform is body image 3-D; Mardis, who is from Grenada, Miss., will promote it across the state the next several months.

Most Beautiful

Most Beautiful is a Student Government Association sponsored event to crown the female participant who scores the highest in accordance with judge scoring:

  • Stage Presence
  • Confidence
  • Beauty

There is also a Most Photogenic Award given to the participant of judges choice.

Most Beautiful 2019

Kassidy Gillis, a first-year speech and hearing sciences major from Olive Branch, Miss., was crowned Miss Beautiful 2019 at Delta State University’s annual Most Beautiful Pageant and Top 10. The event, which featured two dozen contestants, took place on April 9 in the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

Four other beauties earned recognition: Taylor Weeks (Grenada), Denicia Dew (Yazoo City), Haley Hill (Isola), and Eva Grace McCrory (Clinton).

Gillis also received the Most Photogenic Award.

The pageant was sponsored by the Delta State University Student Government Association and produced by the Pageant Board, a Delta State student organization. Contestants are judged on beauty, confidence, and stage presence.
