Student Government Association

SGA Committees

The SGA Committees were designed to support the student body, both academically and socially. They strive to provide an amusing, pleasurable, and exuberant atmosphere for the entire student body to relax them from the rigors and stresses of a competitive academic environment. In this endeavor, they will utilize resources to benefit the educational community and those affected.

The SGA President appoints a Chairman to oversee the activities, events, and initiatives of each Committee. Each Committee Chairman sits on the SGA Cabinet, and reports to the SGA President. Please select “Apply to SGA,” if you are interested in joining a Committee below, or you may contact a Committee Chairman if you want to know more about the Committees activities.

Student Organizations

Student Government Association’s Student Organizations is an active mediator among all organizations on campus. Delta State University has over 100 student organizations in which any student can be involved, they include, Honor Societies, Panhellenic and Pan Hellenic sororities, IFC and Pan Hellenic fraternities, Religious Groups and Student Ministries, and various Performing Groups, etc.

There are 3 main purposes of SGA – Student Organizations: First, to keep easily accessible updated records of each student organization already established on-campus; Second, to implement new and improved organizations to provide for the needs and desires of every student at Delta State University; and Last, to keep students involved in every organizational event throughout the school year by updating the Student Events Calendar and re-connecting with the President’s Council. We will work with the Environment Affairs to help with our “Campus Clean-Up Days.”

If you wish to be involved with SGA and it’s many outlets, please contact us! We would love for you to join us in creating a better future for Delta State University!
