Vehicle Boosts and Unlocks

The University Police Department will provide a courtesy vehicle boost to any student, employee, or visitor on campus. However, students and employees are required to register their vehicles with the UPD to be eligible.  UPD will not provide Boosts during inclement weather (rain, thunderstorms, lightning, etc.).

UPD will attempt to unlock the door of any student, employee, or visitor on Delta State’s campus who is locked out of their vehicle. Again, students and employees must register their vehicles with the UPD to be eligible. However, during inclement weather (rain, thunderstorms, lightning, etc.), officers will not provide these services.

Escorts

UPD Officers provide safety escorts to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus. Most often, females use this service after dark. To request a safety escort, please call 662-846-4155.

Crime Prevention Programs

The Delta State University Police Department has an active crime prevention program dedicated to reducing criminal opportunities. We encourage members of the campus community to take responsibility for their own safety and security, as well as that of others. UPD has crime prevention programs available for all students, staff, and faculty. Some of the topics include personal safety and property security, alcohol and DUI awareness, drug abuse awareness, fire safety, and sexual assault/date rape prevention.
