|The H. L. Nowell Union, as the nucleus of the campus, is a focal point for campus activity affording enrichment of the campus life. The Union is designed to enhance the co-curricular education for the student body. Through diverse programs and services provided for Delta State student, faculty, staff, alumni and their guest the Union provides opportunity for cultural, intellectual, social, and recreational development. The Union is a program meeting the daily needs of the university community. It seeks to enhance understanding and fellowship among the faculty, staff and student body by providing informal association outside the classroom. Located in the Union is the:
The three-story building is situated at the south end of the quadrangle; the Union stands in the heart of the campus. At the second-floor level, a balcony encircles the building and provides a panoramic view of campus.
More than just an imposing building, the Union is also an organization, a program, a focal point for campus activity affording enrichment of campus life and encouragement for the growth of individual social competency. Recognizing the student’s need for recreation without leaving the campus area, the Union offers lounges, T. V. areas, study areas, meeting rooms, banquet rooms, patios, and sun decks.
The H. L. Nowell Union is open 7:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and open 9:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday during the regular academic session. Summer Hours vary.
