Retiree Benefits

POLICY STATEMENT


Delta State University provides eligible retirees with various benefits for life. Eligibility and the benefits provided are clarified within this policy.

DEFINITIONS


Retiree:
For eligibility for the benefits shown below, a retiree is defined as a full-time employee retiring with ten or more years of full-time service to Delta State University or a part-time employee retiring with fifteen or more years of service.

PROCEDURES and RESPONSIBILITIES


Benefits Offered:

  1. Free green parking sticker which allows the retiree to park in any parking space on campus other than handicapped zones.
  2. Free lifetime membership in the Alumni Association.
  3. Membership in the Delta State University Dedicated Statesmen Association.
  4. Tuition remission: Retirees are entitled to the same tuition remission benefits as current full-time employees. The retiree tuition remission benefits are subject to change simultaneously with those for active full time employees.
  5. Retirees are provided a Delta State University “Retiree” ID card which entitles the retiree with access to the following at no charge. (Golf is not included in this benefit.)
    • Roberts-LaForge Library
    • Athletic Events (regular season only)
    • Fitness Center
    • Wyatt Gym
    • Aquatics Center
    • Tennis Courts
    • Limited Health Services
  6. Symbolic retirement gift: Subject to the availability of Foundation funds to cover the cost, a similar gift will be provided to each retiree.
  7. If requested, an email for retirees will be provided with an address of username@retiree.deltastate.edu. This email will provide limited access to the University email system.
