Cetin Oguz was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He studied painting and drawing at Mimar Sinan University before moving to Cleveland, MS to study at DSU. He ultimately received his MFA from Memphis College of Art, where he was a teaching assistant for a year. He began teaching at DSU in 2003. As an undergraduate, he received Award of Excellence in Mississippi collegiate show 2001. Cetin teaches all levels of painting and drawing courses. In his work, he uses various contemporary and traditional mediums to transform his ideas into art.
