Suzanne Simpson is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and has worked in Institutional Research & Planning since 2008. Suzanne received her bachelor’s from Delta State University in Political Science in 2004. During her tenure at Delta State Ms. Simpson was awarded the Congressional Fellowship and received the Vice President of Academic Affairs Scholarship to attend the Inter-Consortium of Political and Social Research at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. After receiving her bachelor’s degree she attended Arkansas State University and received her master’s in Political Science/minor in Public Administration in 2005.
At ASU Ms. Simpson, was a graduate/research/teaching assistant for the Department of Political Science/Public Administration and the PhD program in Heritage Studies. She assisted the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas and other municipalities in the development and implementation of ending homelessness in the Northeast Arkansas area. She also conducted multiple surveys/data analyses for the Delta Heritage initiative.
After receiving her master’s, Suzanne was employed by the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services in the Division of Administrative Services as the Research Project Analyst. During her tenure, Ms. Simpson conducted multiple studies for various divisions both inside and outside of DHHS and maintained monthly and annual statistical reports for all divisions. Suzanne was promoted to Research and Statistics Manager in 2007 and was also appointed as a member of the data quality enhancement team. Additionally, she was chosen to attend the DHS Leadership Conference in which she began an online testing unit for all Arkansas DHS employees that participate in the statistical online time studies.
Suzanne has presented papers at the Louisiana Political Science Association, Association for Politics and Life Sciences, and the Southern Association for Institutional Research Conference. Suzanne’s research interests include, women and gender studies, politics and life sciences, arts education, constituent services, and higher education data analysis.
Suzanne enjoys spending time with her nieces (Brinley & Kylie), her two cats (Emma & Noah), reading, painting, and singing A cappella music.

Marcie Behrens, a native of Covington, Louisiana, has worked at Delta State University in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning since January 2004.
Since working in the Institutional Research and Planning Office Marcie has had the opportunity to work with several faculty members on research projects and also presented papers at the Reaching Out to Mississippi Education in Action (ROMEA) conference at Delta State University and the Mid-South Educational Research Association (MSERA) conference in which both topics were related to academic persistence and retention. Also, at the Southern Association of Institutional Research Conference (SAIR) a presentation was made regarding how to use SPSS and Excel cohesively with Banner to do more effective data and assessment reporting.
Marcie works with staff, faculty, and students to help them with their assessment needs. She is responsible for the administration and analysis of all surveys that are conducted on campus.
Marcie received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Science in Community Development from Delta State University.

Eric Atchison is a native of Biloxi, Mississippi and has worked in Institutional Research & Planning since 2008. Eric received his bachelor’s from the University of Mississippi in Anthropology and his master’s from Delta State in Community Development. During his master’s program, Eric’s favorite courses were Applied Rural Sociology and Advanced Statistics.
Before joining IR&P, Eric worked as a research assistant with the Institute for Community-Based Research, served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA, and was a research consultant with Jackson State University. He has presented his research at local, regional, and national conferences. Eric’s research interests include educational evaluation, quality of life, sustainable development, and post-disaster research. In his free time Eric enjoys playing tennis, making pottery, and photographing delta landscapes.
KAYLEE LEDFORD
WORKSTUDY
I am 21 years old and I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ms. I am a senior, and I am a graphic design major with a minor in photography. I will finish school in May 2010 and I am engaged to be married June 27, 2009. I will be living in Greenwood, MS and hope to work for a local printing company or newspaper/magazine doing layouts. I am currently captain for the DSU marching band colorguard, and I play flute for concert band during the Spring. I really enjoy photography, painting, riding four wheelers, fishing, bonfires, watching movies, and hanging with fun friends. I love making people smile, laugh, and just plain happy.
KARANBIR (Kenny) SINGH
WORKSTUDY
Karanbir (Kenny) Singh lives in Drew, Mississippi. He moved to Mississippi from New York five years ago and is currently attending Delta State University majoring in Pre-Engineering. When he is not working or going to school, Kenny likes to read books, watch TV, stay connected to the internet, watch new movies, listen to music, and hang out with friends. He spends most of his time watching NFL football games and working with his dad on the weekends. When he graduates from college, he plans to move back to New York City and work for a company as an Industrial Engineer. Kenny also plans to retire at the age of 50 and open a fast food restaurant.
