Academic Support Classes

Delta State University offers study skills classes each fall and spring semester.  Although these classes do not satisfy general education requirements, they are open to the entire student body.

Entering freshmen who are admitted to Delta State University with scores of 16 or below on the ACT math, reading, and/or English sub tests are required to enroll in developmental courses in their deficient subject areas.  Students who are required to take two or more developmental classes must also enroll in the year-long Academic Support classes, CED 098 and CED 099.  The curriculum for these classes includes instruction in goal setting, time management, study skills, and reading comprehension.  Additional time is spent on academic advising, career counseling, and personal issues which college freshmen may encounter.  The program is designed to assist students with their transition to college-level work and equip them with the skills and attitudes necessary for the achievement of their academic, career, and life goals.

CED 098 will be taught during the Fall 2008 semester at the following times:

Monday / Wednesday / Friday

Tuesday / Thursday

      9:00 -  9:50

     8:00 - 9:15

     10:00 - 10:50

     9:25 - 10:40
