The program provides over 144 hours of academic instruction and a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice experience

The Coordinated Program is at least 2 years in duration. Each students needs to have reliable transportation since most supervised practice sites are within a 65-mile radius of Cleveland.

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is nationally recognized as an expert in the field of food and nutrition. Eligibity requirements established by the ADA must be met to become a RD.
What does is cost? 
The approximate cost of the program is $7000 to $8100 per year for Mississippi residents and $12000 to $13500 per year for out-of-state students. This includes estimated expenses for fees, room and board, on-campus laundry, professional affiliations, liability insurance, books, and uniforms.

 

The final 2 semesters may consist of less than 12 hours of academic credit considered for financial aid. Students should visit the financial aid officer to understand and discuss available options for financial assistance.

The Coordinated Program in Dietetics is currently accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995; (312) 899-4876.
 Are you in? 
Students must meet the following requirements to be admitted to the Nutrition and Dietetics program.
  • An overall GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Completion of at least 75 hours of specific prequisites
  • Minimum grade of "C" in required courses
  • Physical Exam
  • Proof of health insurance
Students are required to submit a Recommendation Form and a complete Program Application.
The Coordinated Program in Dietetics is a two-year minimum program. It consists of course work and hands-on experience.

Upon completion of the program, students will have:
  • Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Nutrition
  • Eligibility to take the registration exam for dieticians
  • Eligibility for membership in the American Dietetic Association
  • Qualification to seek employment as an entry-level dietician
Registered Dietitians and Licensed Nutritionists are employed by the following:
  • Health Care
  • Business and Industry, School Feeding, Community and Public Health Nutrition Programs
  • Wellness Centers and Day-Care Centers
  • Food Science, Education, Marketing, Product Development, Research
  • Self-employed Private Practice
