Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance Overview
The Finance program is designed to provide students knowledge about modern financial institutions in today's economy. The Finance program trains students to become effective managers in banking institutions, corporate finance departments, securities brokerage houses, and financial planners. The Finance program at Delta State is fully accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. The curriculum is reviewed periodically by a group of financial practitioners to insure that our graduates are kept up to date on the latest financial trends and techniques.

Program of Study
Please refer to the Degree Requirements located at the above tab of the same name and the Degree Checklist which can be found at the Curriculum tab above. In the Brochure tab above you will find the suggested course sequence for the BBA degree in Finance.

All Finance majors must earn a grade of “C” or better in each course in their field of concentration and maintain an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.

Special Programs

  • Financial Planning
    • Successful completion of the Finance program at Delta State will qualify students to sit for the national Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam.
  • Certified Cash Manager Associate Program
    • Successful completion of the FIN 403 Working Capital Management course will qualify participants to sit for the national Certified Cash Manager (CCM) exam.

Minor in Economics Overview
The College of Business currently only offers a minor in Economics. 

Program of Study
Completing a minor in Economics at Delta State University requires a total of 18 semester hours of economics courses, including ECO 210 Macroeconomics and ECO 211 Microeconomics.
