Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register my vehicle?
Go to parking.deltastate.edu. Submit the following information to receive a confirmation page: id number (900#), physical and email address, license plate number, make, model, color, and year of vehicle. Print the confirmation page and bring it to the Police Department (Union 202A)
Where do I pick up my decal?
After registering a vehicle, decals may be picked up from the Police Department (Union 202A). Bring your Okra Kard.
How can I pay for a decal?
The fee can be paid in one of three ways.
1) Okra Green Anywhere Kard -- This is the only form of payment the Police Department can accept. Money may be put on this card at a cash value center (located in the Union or the Library), through the Okra Kard 24/7 Online Office, or at the Student business Services Office.
2) Cash or Check at the Student Business Services (Kent Wyatt Hall)
3) Online with an E-Check, Master, Discover, or American Express card (fee of 2% is assessed).
What do I do if I get a ticket?
Ticket fees may be paid at Student Business Services with cash or check or with an Okra Green Anywhere Kard at the Police Department. Tickets not paid within seven days will double the amount charged. Appeals may be presented before the Student Court, but a $10 appearance bond must be posted when filing an appeal.
Can I get an escort across campus?
Yes. If for any reason you need an escort on campus, call the Police Department at 662-846-4155 for assistance.
Am I required to register my bicycle?
No. Registration is not required but is encouraged. Operation I.D. is a theft prevention program that allows the Police Department to have a bicycle number and description on record.
Are there safety and prevention programs on campus?
Yes. Safety on campus is a genuine concern of the Police Department. Crime prevention programs are available for all students, staff, and faculty. Some of the topics include but are not limited to personal safety and property security, alcohol and DUI awareness, drug abuse awareness, fire safety, and sexual assault/date rape prevention.
