ACCUPLACER

The ACCUPLACER test is administered in the spring semester to high school seniors as one step in the admission process.  Once a high school senior has applied to Delta State University for the upcoming fall term, the Office of Admissions will evaluate the student's high school records and may recommend that the student take the ACCUPLACER test.  If a student's grade point average on the College Preparatory Curriculum and/or ACT composite score fall below the required levels for full admission status, the student's performance on the ACCUPLACER will be evaluated in conjunction with the other assessments of the student's academic readiness for university instruction.

The ACCUPLACER test will be offered by each of the eight state-supported four-year universities in the state of Mississippi.  A student may take the ACCUPLACER at any of the eight schools and may test multiple times during the spring; however, students may not retake the ACCUPLACER unless at least 30 days has passed since the previous attempt, regardless of test site.  Students who plan to enroll at Delta State University, but who choose to take the Accuplacer at another university, should have their test scores faxed to the Delta State University Admission's Office (662-846-4684).  If a student takes the Accuplacer at Delta State and needs the scores faxed to another school, the student must provide the fax number at the time of the test.  Delta State University does not charge a fee for administering the Accuplacer.

Students planning to take the ACCUPLACER test at Delta State University should arrive at the test site by 1:45 p.m. to complete the registration process.  The test will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.  Students should bring pencils, scratch paper, and a picture ID, and should plan to remain in the test approximately two hours.  THE USE OF CALCULATORS IS NOT ALLOWED.

Students must preregister for the test.  If ADA accommodations are required, contact the office of Academic Support Services well in advance of the testing date to allow time for the necessary arrangements to be made.

At Delta State University, the Accuplacer test will be administered multiple times throughout the spring semester.  All tests will be administered in the Academic Support Lab, Union 311.  The test dates for Spring 2009 will be available on this site in December 2008.
