Grants

DSU strives to provide every student with the resources available for financial aid. Federal grants may be applied for through FAFSA. (link). Students will need to meet certain requirements to be eligible for the grants.

  • Federal Pell Grants
The most need-based of the student aid programs, this program provides grant aid to low- and middle-income undergraduate students. Awards vary depending on the cost of attendance and financial circumstances of students and their families. Pell grants do not have to be repaid.

Based on changes made to the Title IV student aid program by the recently enacted Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2012, undergraduate students can only receive a Federal Pell Grant for up to 12 semesters (or its equivalent).

  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG)
Participating schools award FSEOG to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need, based on the availability of funds. FSEOG awards for Delta State University usually ranges from $100 - $600 per year. FSEOG does not have to be repaid.

Loans

Several loan programs are available to fund college educations. Most have a low interest rate, and pay back is not required until graduation. Qualifications vary for each program.
