The Master of Education degree in Elementary Education program is designed to prepare quality teachers who possess the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that enable them to deliver effective instruction at all levels of the elementary school.

All applicants who meet the GPA and license requirements will be admitted.
Overall undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.5, or 2.75 or higher on the last 64 hours of required coursework.
Class A Mississippi teaching certificate or its equivalent.
Satisfactory writing proficiency score on one of the following:
Praxis I Writing Test-minimum score of 174 on PPST or 320 on CBT
National Teacher Examination (NTE) Communication Skills-minimum score of 653
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Verbal Test-minimum score of 3
Miller Analogies Test (MAT)- minimum score of 400
Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) Essay Test- minimum score of 3
Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) Writing Essay Test- minimum score of 3
Passing score on PRAXIS II, Elementary Education: Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment (K-5), or Elementary Education: Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment (4-8); or passing score on test in Elementary Education approved by Mississippi State Department of Education.
An Application for Graduation and a completed Program of Study must be submitted at least one semester prior to the semester of graduation. A comprehensive exam application should be inluded with the application for graduation. Application for Graduation
