Outdoor Program
The Outdoor Program at Delta State is an inclusive, outdoor recreation and education program, striving to enhance, inspire, and empower university students, faculty, staff, and community members of the Mississippi Delta.

Credit courses are offered each semester. Some of these include Rock Climbing, Sky Diving and Mountain Biking.
There is also a Rental Shop, located in the Fitness Center, for daily, weekend, and weekly equipment rentals. Shop hours are Monday 12 - 4 PM, Wednesday and Thursday 3 - 6 PM.

Fitness Trail
Through major grant funding, a fitness trail has been made available to the campus/community. The fitness trail provides a safe opportunity to improve levels and health and wellness. The trail is located at the Delta State Intramural Field on the west side of campus next to Hill Apartments, directly across from the Facilities Management Building.

The trail is easily accessible to all campus/community members. It is within a walking/biking distance from the center of campus and less than half a mile from the Forest E. Wyatt Center.

Wellness Center
The purpose of the wellness center is to evaluate the fitness levels and the eating of the Delta State University faculty, staff, students and members of the Cleveland community, providing guidance for improvements.

Access to the facilities (fitness center, swimming pool, gymnasium, racquetball courts, tennis courts, and golf course) will be granted to anyone who purchases or has a current Delta State facilities Okra Card from the Student Business Services. View facilities and fees page.

Fitness assessments are free and done by appointment only.

Other activities that have been offered through HCCI include health fairs/screenings, Okra Kids Recreation and Activity Day Camp, environmental scan, and health curriculum.
