Class Notes Feb 20101930’s 1932 Rosalie Vetrano Bucy, of Saltillo, recently celebrated her 100th birthday, she is one of DSU oldest living alums.
Bucy 1940’s 1941 Mary Frances Fox Hardin, of Calhoun City, Claude Fox, of Charleston, and Minnie Fox Richter ’44, of Greenwood celebrated Mary’s 90th Birthday.
Hardin 1960’s 1967 Jerry K. Smith, of Leakesville, was inducted into the 2009 Jones County Junior College Sports Hall of Fame.
Smith 1970’s 1972 Gary L. Ratliff, Sr. has recently been placed on the staff of the New PCLINUXOX Magazine, where he is currently writing a series of articles called Computer Languages A-Z.
1980’s 1981 Alice Jones, was nominated as a possible 2009 Elementary Teacher of the Year by the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce.
Jones 1984 Dr. John Buchanan, of Petal, was recently hired as the new superintendent of the Petal School District. 1985 Caroline Gatling, of Vicksburg, was nominated as a possible 2009 Elementary Teacher of the Year by the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce.
Gatling 1990’ 1995 Dr. Neal Suares recently obtained his board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine. 1996 Patrick Davis,’96 of Greenville, MS, is a new State Farm Agent in Cleveland,MS.
Davis 2000’s 2000 Marty Brantley, is now the Marketing Manager for Tommy Crane Real Estate Group, Inc. in New Orleans, LA. 2001 Joey Cummings, of Yazoo City, has been appointed President of American Samoa Chamber of Commerce in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
Cummings 2002 David Whitehead has accepted the position of Breast Care Specialist with Ethicon Endo-Surgery a division of Johnson and Johnson. 2006 Evan Bosworth, of Branson, MO is the featured vocalist on the Navigator Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line.
Bosworth Shane Fletcher, of Pearl, was named Officer of the month by the Pearl Chamber of Commerce for the month of December. 2007 Dr. Debra Petty, co-owner and founder of Kid’s Rainbow Daycare in Bruce, was presented with an “excellence award” at the 4th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Banquet, hosted by the Loggins Scholarship Committee.
Petty 2009 Trey Russell, of Flowood, was recently hired by Blackstone Financial Group, LLC, as an investment advisor representative.
Russell Attended Ryan Biesemeyer was recently hired by the University of Hawai‘i head football coach Greg McMackin as the team’s graduate assistant.
