Class Notes December 20091950’s 1959 Marvin D. Sullivan (posthumously), of Brookhaven, was recently inducted into the DSU Alumni Hall of Fame Class of 2009.
Sullivan 1960’s Dot Franklin, of Cleveland, was recently the recipient of the Legacy Award in honor of founding the Delta Belles at Delta State University.
Franklin 1962 Bob and Sylvia Ferguson of Iuka, were recently the recipients of the Hugh Ellis Walker Alumni Service Award at Delta State University.
Ferguson 1970’s 1972 Billy Nowell, of Cleveland, was awarded Outstanding Alumnus of the Year and inducted into the DSU Alumni Hall of Fame Class of 2009.
Nowell 1980’s 1980 Donald Green , of Clarksdale, was recently inducted to the DSU Alumni Hall of Fame Class of 2009.
Green 1990’ 1994 Tim Gaines, of Memphis, TN, was recently named to the Board of Directors for the Insurors of Memphis. 1995 Rob Armour, of Madison, is the recipient of the Kent Wyatt Young Alumnus Service Award.
Armour 1996 Kathy Jackson Smith, of Flowood, was elected to the city council.
Smith 1998 Cynthia Young, of Chicago, IL, was recently promoted as the Director of the Center for Working Women at Housing Opportunities for Women.
Young 2000’s 2004 Draper Matthews, of Richmond, VA, was recently promoted to Media Planner at The Martin Agency.
Matthews Russell Gainspoletti, of Cleveland, recently completed his CPA exam, and is employed with Gainspoletti Financial Services, Inc.
