Studio A
DMI Studio A is a large format tracking room that may well be the largest of its kind at an academic institution. The space can accommodate a 100 piece orchestra and 100-piece choir simultaneously. Studio A offers a supremely warm and clear sound, perfect for numerous types of recording, from solo piano to large orchestras or choirs and film scores. The live area also has two spacious isolation booths. A Steinway baby grand and several electronic keyboards are also available.
The size of Studio A also makes it a very attractive venue for live music events. A great view of the studio area is offered from the second floor of Whitfield.
The centerpiece of the control room is a 60-channel Neve V3 console. The monitoring is provided by Mackie 626 speakers and audio is recorded to a Genex 9048 DSD/PCM recorder.
