1966

Jacqueline McCully Lee, of Southaven and her grandson, Scott Carlton ’93, recently purchased a Fantastic Sam’s Hair Salon in Southaven, MS.

Darlene Bassie Warren, was elected president of the Gulfport Civic League.

Les Bumgarner, of Brookhaven, was named the mayor for Brookhaven, MS.

Charles Jourdan, of Birmingham, AL has been named Director of Marketing and Sales for the Birmingham Barons, which is the minor league baseball team for the Chicago White Sox.

1990’s

1994

Alberstine Johnson-Pickett, of Canton, was chosen to speak at a luncheon titled

“Shatter the Silence: Recognizing and Preventing Teen Suicide”.

 

1997

Jimmy Mumford, of Leland, received two awards of distinction honors after entering the 15th Annual Communicator Competition.

Dr. Ryan Akers, of Starkville, is a research associate and instructor in the School of Human Sciences at MSU, also he received the Southern Association for College Student Affairs Dissertation of the Year award.

Serena Clark, of Madison, has been appointed by Gov. Haley Barbour to the Mississippi EdNet Institute that oversees the development of instructional television service throughout the state.

Lylla Joe, of Madison, was promoted to investment director. She manages the Mississippi Seed Fund and the Mississippi Angel Network.

Steve A Gray,’02 of Vicksburg, was recently promoted to Director of Governmental Affairs for the Mississippi Association of super visors.

Savannah Reis, of Shannon, has accepted a teaching position at McNeil Elementary, in Canton, MS.

Brittany Huggins Greer,  of Como joins Northwest Mississippi Community College staff as a public relations assistant. She will serve as the principal writer for the department.
