DMI Summer Camp
July 11-17, 2010 Save the date!

The Delta Music Institute on the campus of Delta State University hosts a DMI summer camp each year on the DSU campus. The camp operates under the Janice Wyatt Mississippi Summer Arts Institute program.
The DMI Summer Camp is a six-day interactive experience for high school students ages 15-18 exploring three music career tracks that are integrated together, culminating in a recording and showcase performance. College faculty, music industry professionals and specialists provide hands-on instruction grounded in both academic and real-world applications. The curriculum covers the creative process and technical aspects of songwriting, performing and recording.
Some of the topics covered in the camp are studio recording techniques, MIDI, music theory, songwriting, and performance. Daily instruction is held in the Delta Music Institute that houses the DMI recording studios, and the DMI digital audio lab. Final performances are held in the Bologna Performing Arts Center on campus.
An application form for summer camp appears on this page in late spring. For further information, call the DMI office at (662) 846-4579.
