Finding and registering your game console's MAC address

This guide shows you how to find and register the MAC address of your game console. If you are still unable to find your MAC-Address after using the following instructions, please refer to your product manual or contact the manufacturer of your device. If you are unable to deliver this information to us, we will not support locating this information for you.

Description:


If you own an Xbox, Xbox360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 or a Nintindo Wii and would like to be able to use it on the Delta State network, you will need to register it with OIT. One of the things you need to submit is the MAC address, which allows us to identify your console so we can grant it permission through Cisco Clean Access. This guide will show you how to find the MAC address of these game consoles.  Click on the appropriate console to view Instructions on finding the MAC address:  XBox 360     XBox     Playstation 2     Playstation 3

1. Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Network Settings.

2. Select Edit Settings.

 

3. Under Basic Settings, check to make sure the IP Settings are set for Automatic.

 

4. Now go to Additional Settings, select Advanced Settings.

 

5. At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called Wired MAC Address.

 

Testing your Xbox Live Connection

1. Once you have registered your Xbox 360 with Clean Access you can test your Xbox Live Connection. Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Network Settings. From this menu then Select "Test Xbox Live Connection".

 

2. The next screen will warn you that testing your network connection will sign everyone out. Select "Yes" to continue.

 

3. Testing of all Xbox Live connections will then take place, one by one each connection will be verified as "Confirmed".

 

4. To begin using your Xbox Live connection, Go to the Xbox Live area of the Xbox Dashboard and select the graphic that reads "Xbox Live".

 

5. Once you have the MAC address, you may proceed to the game console registration page (/pages/3599.asp )and register your PlayStation. Once the console registration is complete, allow up to 1 week then you should be able to successfully connect your game console to the network. When your device is registered you will receive confirmation via email.

 

 

 

Finding the Xbox  MAC Address

 

3. From the Settings screen, select Network Settings.
   

 

4. The MAC address is the 12-digit number at the bottom-right corner of the Network Settings screen.
   

 

Once you have the MAC address, you may proceed to the game console registration page (/pages/3599.asp )and register your PlayStation. Once the console registration is complete, allow up to 1 week then you should be able to successfully connect your game console to the network. When your device is registered you will receive confirmation via email.

 

Finding the Playstation 2 MAC Address

1. Power up the PlayStation 2 and load the Network Adaptor Startup Disc.

 

2. Once it has loaded, select ISP Setup and press X.
   

 

3. The ISP SETUP will begin to load, and you will be presented with a license agreement. Select Agree and press X to continue.
   

 

4. For connection type, choose Local Area Network (LAN) and press X to continue.
   

 

5. Select Automatic Configuration and press X to continue.
    

 

6. At the connection test screen, select Advanced and press X to continue.
   

 

7. At the Advanced Broadband Settings screen, make sure Automatic is selected. While you are at this screen, make note of the MAC Address at the bottom. You will need this number to register your game console.
   

 

8. Once you have the MAC address, you may proceed to the game console registration page (/pages/3599.asp )and register your PlayStation. Once the console registration is complete, allow up to 1 week then you should be able to successfully connect your game console to the network. When your device is registered you will receive confirmation via email.

 

 

Finding the PlaySation 3 MAC Address

1. Go to "Settings" on the Cross Media Bar (XMB) and select "System Settings."
   
   
   
   
2. Your MAC Address will be the first item listed.
   
   
3. Once you have the MAC address, you may proceed to the game console registration page (/pages/3599.asp )and register your PlayStation. Once the console registration is complete, allow up to 1 week then you should be able to successfully connect your game console to the network. When your device is registered you will receive confirmation via email.

 

 

 

Finding the Nintindo Wii MAC Address
