J.F. “Pap” Stevens, of Cleveland, was honored for 20 years of service on the Mississippi Delta Community College Board of Trustees.

1968
Jerry Boatner, of Collinsville, received several baseball coaching awards and accolades this past year.  He received the Coach of the Year for the South Section award, Clarion Ledger Baseball Coach of The Year Award, was accepted into the Nation High School Caches Association, and American Baseball Coaches Association.

Maggie Crawford, of Cleveland, has taken a position as a sales associate with Vaughn Real Estate in Cleveland.

Sonya Pullen Swafford, of Cleveland, wrote a children’s book, Sorry Charlie.

Laird Hamberlin, of Cumming, GA, was appointed recently as the Vice President, Global Accounts, ADT Worldwide.

Michael Davis, of New Orleans, LA, has written a cookbook called Romantic New Orleans Menus  consisting of 15 New Orleans recipes.

Russel McGuire, of Pikeville, KY, was appointed as Chief Clinical Officer of Upson Regional Medical Center.

Paula Spurgeon, of Greenville, has been promoted to vice president of BankPlus.

Mark Kimbell, of Olive Branch, was promoted to Head of Police Investigations within the Olive Branch Police Department.

Brian Jones, of Madison, has been promoted to Director of Financial Analysis and Planning at Cellular South.

2002
Sheldon Harmon, of Sallis, is the new County Director of Attala County with the Department of Human Services, Division of Economic Assistance.

2003
Katherine Pannel, of Indianola, was awarded the Psychiatry Intern of the Year Award, from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Jason Campbell, of Cleveland, has been accepted to the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, FL.

2008
Chris Johnson, of Cleveland, has been employed by the Isle of Capri, Lula, as a Human Resource Coordinator.

Gary Fioranelli, of Cleveland, was re-appointed to the Mississippi Rice Promotion Board by Governor Haley Barbour.

Devin Goodwin, of Russellville, AL, plays professional baseball for the Rochester Honkers and was awarded the Most Valuable Player post season award for 2008.
