Jeanne Walker, of Cleveland, retired from the position of Chancery Clerk of Bolivar County after 32 years of service.
1954
Bryce Griffis, of Starkville, was induced into the Mississippi Business Hall of Fame which recognizes leaders for significant contribution to the growth & development in the state. It’s sponsored by Junior Achievement.
1960
Jeff Ross Capwell, Memphis,TN, conducted the orchestra for “Cinderella” performance at the Orpheum Theater.
1964
Fred Rossi, of New Jersey, was inducted into the Watchung Hills High School Hall of Fame. Rossi played semi-pro baseball in the Union County and Plainfield Twilight Leagues after Delta State University.
1968
Larry Therrell, of Brandon, was inducted into the Mississippi Community College Sports Hall of Fame.
1971
Gerald Deloach, of Alligator, was named Outstanding Art Alumnus of the Year at Delta State University.
1978
Lynn Fletcher Shurden of Drew, has been named Director of the Bolivar County Library System.
1974
Colonel John Scott Ellis, United States Air Force (Ret.), formerly of Cleveland, was honored in Arlington, VA today by Air Force Major General Charles R. Davis, Program Executive Officer, Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program, for work in support of the Defense Department’s largest aircraft acquisition program. The general congratulated Ellis and others under his command for their role in winning the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Acquisition) award for the Outstanding System Program Office for 2007.

Ann Bassi Minyard, of Alpharetta, GA, is the Director of Application Support and technical training with IMMUCOR, a medical equipment company in Atlanta.

Charles Dudley Jr, of Kirkland, IL, is currently a Clinical Director of the Northern Illinois Anxiety Clinic in Rockford, IL.
Stephen B. Simpson, of Gulfport, also known as the Circuit Court Judge, has been appointed Commissioner of Mississippi Department of Public Safety by Governor Haley Barbour.

David Norquist, of Cleveland, has been appointed to the Bolivar County Advisory Board of State Bank & Trust.
Dr. Tara Mallett, of Lucedale, was recognized by George County Regional Hospital for outstanding service.
1988
Burns Strider, of Washington, DC, is one of the leading strategists of the Democratic Party. He now heads religious outreach for the House Democratic Caucus and is lead staffer for the Democrats’ Faith Working Group.
1994
Michael P. Davis, M.D., of Kenner, LA, is currently Board-Certified in Family Medicine and is founder and owner of The FamilyMD Medical Clinic, a walk-in primary care clinic in the New Orleans area. He is married to Celeste Eckert Davis and has a son, Andrew.

Farrah Dennis Cox, of Brandon, is employed with the Mississippi Real Estate Commission in Flowood where she is a licensed real estate broker and presently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis in public management from Troy, AL.

Julie Hollingsworth, of Byhalia, serves as system senior marketing coordinator for Baptist Memorial and was named an At-Large Member of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation.

Alan McKiernon, of Southaven, is the Benefit manager with Baker Donelson Law Firm in Memphis.

Allen Towles, of Cleveland, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Guaranty Bank & Trust of Cleveland.
Shanna Lee Taylor, of Alligator, is the 4-H agent in Coahoma County.

Timothy Starnes, Jr. of Cleveland is employed by Building Plastics Inc. as an account manager and wants to announce the exchanging of vows with his newly wed wife Jodie Elizabeth Starnes on April 26.
Matt Safley, of Wesson, is a 3rd year Medical student at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Stuart McClain Ware, of Asheville, NC, is currently employed with Griffin Architects P.A. & Fireside Antiques and Interiors as an Associate Interior Designer. Also an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers & recently featured in Carolina Home & Garden Magazine for interior styling.

Kathryn Safley, of Wesson, is working in cardiovascular research at St. Luke Hospital Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City.
