SEC New Faculty Mini-Grant
Application Process for
REQUEST FOR FACULTY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
for
GST 600 PARTICIPANTS
In appreciation of your participation in the GST 600 Professional Development Seminar for new faculty, the Student Engagement Champions offers you the opportunity to apply for a faculty development mini-grant of up to $500.
To apply:
- Complete the Request Form.
- Address the following elements in an attached “Proposal”
- Proposal:
- Proposals must give a description of your request and must demonstrate a linkage to teaching responsibilities.
- Tell how it will facilitate your efforts to engage students in learning experiences that will help them achieve your learning goals. Use course numbers and/or refer to course objectives in course syllabi, if necessary.
- If travel is required, include the dates, name, and location of the meeting for which funds are requested and attach a copy of the information on the meeting.
- Describe your plans for follow-up activities that will occur as a result of this endeavor and any anticipated benefits to your department and/or college/school.
- Budget:
- Describe your budgetary needs by category.
- If you are receiving funds from another source in support of this request, please specify.
- Please include your budget information at the end of your proposal.
- Get dated signature of approval from your department chair.
- Get dated signature of approval from your college or school dean.
- Submit your completed request form and proposal to
SEC Chair, Office of Academic Affairs

- Submit your request by April 1. Ensure timely submission by getting approval from your chair and dean before that deadline.
- The SEC chair will notify you of the decision on your proposal for funding.
