The Delta State University Lady Statesmen made history here Saturday at the Walter Sillers Coliseum as they finished the regular season with a perfect record of 26-0, defeating the Henderson State University Lady Reddies in a decisive 72-52 victory.

Resolution honors late Brookhavenite
One of Brookhaven's most beloved mayors, Doug Sullivan (1937-2007), was remembered and honored Friday morning by Mississippi lawmakers at the State Capitol building.

Grisham-Ferriss reunite

34-years after hearing the news he would no longer be pursuing his dream as a collegiate baseball player for the Statesmen, legendary coach Dave “Boo” Ferriss presented John Grisham with a jersey marking his return to Delta State’s campus on Monday.
Quoted several times as “A night 34 years in the making,” Monday’s program, John Grisham on American Treasures: Books, Baseball & Boo, had a huge turnout as people poured in from around the state to see Grisham and Coach Dave “Boo” Ferriss reunite.
