John Marshall Alexander, of Oxford, has been promoted to Chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Mississippi after 25 years as Assistant U. S. Attorney.

Paul Janoush, of Cleveland, received the Kossman Award, the highest award given by the Cleveland Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce.

Donald Swafford, of Cleveland, was promoted to assistant vice president of M & F Bank in Cleveland.
1989
Byron Nichols, of Brandon, competed in the IPF Masters World Bench Press Championships in Schwedt, Germany. He took home the Silver Medal in the 275 lb Class with a bench press of 562 lbs (255 kg) and set a new American and National Record in Milwaukee, WI at the USAPL Masters Nationals Championships. This was his first international competition.

Tanya McAdory Coogan, of Ashburn, VA, is the new Director of Chapter Development for the Spina Bifida Association, National Office in Washington, DC and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the National Therapeutic Recreation Society, a branch of the National Recreation and Park Association.

Marilyn L. Kelly ('06), of Mound Bayou recently won the election for the honorable position of Circuit Clerk in Bolivar County. She is currently employed at Delta State University where she serves as an administrator in Retention and International Student Affairs and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Marilyn has been married to Mr. Randall Kelly, III, a Secondary Education teacher, for 14 years.
