We actively support the following projects and initiatives:
Teach Mississippi Institute
TMI is an eight-week summer institute at Delta State University which carries twelve semester hours of college credit (CUR 612-Development, Assessment, and Evaluation; CSD 614-Methods of Instruction in Secondary Schools; CSP 546-Advanced Survey of Exceptional Children; and CUR 611-Classroom Management) that can be used toward a master’s degree
And
A one-year internship which carries six semester hours of college credit (CUR 650-Diminsions of Learning/Internship) that can be used toward a master's degree. (The internship is served as a full time licensed teacher.)

Earning a Mississippi teacher license through the Alternate Route procedure.

Delta Education Initiative Undergraduate Scholarship Program
The goal of the Delta Education Initiative Undergraduate Scholarship Program is to recruit students into teacher education at Delta State University who will teach in the schools of the Delta region. Individual scholarship awards are $7,000.00 per year.

Delta Area Writing Project
Invitational Summer Institute is a program to provide teachers with resources and best practice strategies that enhance student learning through improved writing instruction. The Invitational Summer Institute, which prepares teachers who already use a writing approach in their classrooms to become even more proficient, is the heart of the Delta Area Writing Project.
