Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Corlis Snow

We spotlight Dr. Snow for her leadership in the newly formed Literacy Enhancement Clinic. Dr. Snow serves as the coordinator of this program. In this capacity, she arranges training for staff and volunteers, and coordinates referrals from local school districts.

The Literacy Enhancement Clinic is part of the Delta Health Initiative. It provides tutorial services, assessment, and follow up for children in grades K-12. The curriculum uses nonfiction text with content related to health issues. Dr. Snow is proud of the success of the program, stating that it not only provides needed services to children, but also allows teacher candidates on the graduate and undergraduate level develop more expertise in teaching.
