Dr. Jones, Professor of Psychology, earned his Bachelor’s at UNC-Chapel Hill and his Doctor of Philosophy at UT-Knoxville in Experimental Psychology. His research specializations include physiological psychology, personality, and ethology. He has also worked as a psychotherapist in hospitals and in private practice. His students have presented research papers at the Southeastern Psychological Association, the Mississippi Academy of Sciences, and the Mid-South Educational Research Association. In his career, Jones has received 41 grants for service, curriculum development, and research.  For ten years he served as Chair for the Institutional Review Board and the Delta State Research Committee. Recently, Dr. Jones was awarded the 2004-2005 DSU College of Education Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching, Service and Research, and the 2005-2006 DSU Faculty Prize for Excellence in Service.  He is now Professor Emeritus with primary teaching responsibilities for Abnormal Psychology, Personality Theories, Clinical Psychology, and Tests and Measurements.
