The School Counseling Program is a sixty (60) semester hour Master’s Degree that prepares students in the practice of Professional Counseling to work within a K-12 school environment. It also provides students with the academic preparation necessary for successful completion of the Mississippi School Counselor Assessment Inventory (MSCAI), AA certification in School Counseling though the Mississippi State Department of Education, licensure (LPC), and certification (NCC & NCSC).
Admission Requirements
A baccalaureate degree from an institution fully accredited by one of the recognized accrediting agencies.
An overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 or 3.00 or higher on the last 64 hours of required course work.
Appropriate scores on the CAAP, or equivalent test scores.
