Out-of-State Tuition Waivers/Scholarships

 
Scholarships or waivers of out-of-state tuition are provided for students in categories as outlined in the procedures and responsibilities section.

Recipients must be a son or daughter of an alumnus or alumna who has earned a minimum of 48 hours of credit, and/or earned a degree from Delta State University. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Waiver is 100% of out-of-state tuition. The waiver is available for up to eight semesters for undergraduates and four semesters for graduates per degree program. Undergraduate students must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and graduate students at least a 3.0 cumulative graduate GPA to continue to receive the waiver.  
                                                                                         
ACT/High School Excellence – Recipients must (1) have an ACT composite score of 21 and at least a 3.2 high school grade point average, or (2) be an MPSA high school graduate with a 3.00 minimum cumulative high school grade point average, or (3) be a graduate of a Mississippi high school with a 3.00 minimum cumulative high school grade point average, or (4) be a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist. Scholarship is 100% of out of state tuition. The scholarship is available for up to eight semesters for undergraduates only. Students must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA to continue to receive the scholarship.
 
Community College – Recipients must have 54 transfer hours and a cumulative GPA of 3.0. The scholarship is available for up to four semesters for undergraduates only. Students must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at Delta State to continue to receive the scholarship. Phi Theta Kappa members with 54+ transfer hours are also eligible.
 
The Athletic Department may award out of state scholarships up to an amount approved by the cabinet. Awards are made by the Athletic Department.
 
The Music/Art Department may award out of state scholarships up to an amount approved by the cabinet. Awards are made by the Music/Art Department
 
Students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate distance education courses will not be charged out of state tuition.
 
Students employed as graduate assistants will receive a waiver of 100% of out of state tuition.
 
Students enrolled in programs through the Academic Common Market will not be charged out of state tuition.
 
Waivers of out of state tuition may be awarded by the Vice President for Students Affairs in special circumstances.
