Office of
Greek Life
The Greek System at Delta State University has been established to assist the student in the achievement of his educational aims. Fraternities and sororities enable a person to broaden intellectually and socially by working with people of diverse backgrounds dedicated to common goals. The groups offer many opportunities to develop leadership and responsibility and to participate in a varied social program. During the years of their growth at Delta State, the fraternities and sororities have been involved in many outstanding activities such as community service projects, Homecoming festivities, charity benefits, and other events on the University campus. Students are selected for membership during Formal Membership Recruitment, Rush Week or Intake periods. The NPC (National Panhellenic Conference) sororities conduct Formal Membership Recruitment the week preceding the Fall Semester. The IFC (Interfraternity Council) fraternities hold Rush near the beginning of the fall semester, and the NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) sororities and fraternities have their Intake activities later in the school year, and must be officially registered with the Pan Hellenic Advisor prior to the beginning of Intake activities. Informal Recruitment/Rush continues as needed throughout the year for all Greek groups. For complete details and additional information, contact the Panhellenic Advisor in Bailey 108 concerning the NPC sororities, the IFC Advisor in Union 300 concerning the IFC fraternities, and the Pan Hellenic Advisor in Bailey 108 concerning the NPHC groups. All Greek activities (on campus) must be scheduled with the Coordinator of University Facilities/Calendar in Union 200.
