Overview

The purpose of the DSU Mascot is to symbolize the University and the Community spirit to enhance the tradition and emotions of its audience through exaggeration, characterization and entertainment.  The Statesman helps promote school spirit, is a visable ambassador at the University by appearing at pep rallies, all football games, home basketball games and many other public activities.  The past few years the mascot has attended camp.  Tryouts and all other information for the mascot will be the same as the coed cheer program.
