Full admission to Delta State University will be granted to high school graduates who complete one of the following:

Admission Requirements:

• Complete the CPC with a minimum 3.20 GPA; OR
• Complete the CPC with a minimum 2.5 GPA and score and at least 16 on the ACT (at least 760 on the SAT); OR
• Complete the CPC with a class rank in the upper 50% and score at least 16 on the ACT (at least 760 on the SAT); OR
• Complete the CPC with a minimum 2.0 GPA and score at least 18 on the ACT (at least 860 on the SAT); OR
• Satisfy the NCAA standards as a full qualifier under Division I guidelines

High School Required Courses:

ENGLISH [4 CREDITS]

MATH [3 CREDITS]
Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. A fourth class in higher level mathematics is highly recommended.

SCIENCE WITH 2 LABS [3 CREDITS]
Biology, Advanced Biology, Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry, Physics, and Advanced Physics or any science course with comparable rigor and content. One credit unit from a Physical Science course with content at a level that may serve as an introduction to Physics and Chemistry may be used. Two of the courses chosen must be laboratory based.

SOCIAL STUDIES [3 CREDITS]
United States History (1 credit), World History (1 credit), Government (1/2 credit), and Economics (1/2 credit), or Geography (1/2 credit

ADVANCED ELECTIVES [2 CREDITS]
Foreign Language, World Geography, 4th year lab based Science, or 4th year Math

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS [1/2 CREDIT]

PRE-HIGH SCHOOL UNITS
Algebra I, first year Foreign Language, Mississippi Studies, or Computer Applications taken prior to high school will be accepted for admission provided the course content is the same as the high school course.

Compensatory Reading and Compensatory Writing may not be included

MATH [4 CREDITS]
Includes Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and any one Credit of comparable rigor and content. (e.g., Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus BC, Discrete Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, or AP Statistics).

SCIENCE [4 CREDITS]
Includes Biology I, Chemistry I, and any two Credits of comparable rigor and content. (e.g., Physics, Physical Science, Biology II, Chemistry II, AP Chemistry, Physics II, AP Physics B, AP Physics C - Electricity and Magnetism, and AP Physics C - Mechanics, Botany, Microbiology, or Human Anatomy and Physiology.)

SOCIAL STUDIES [4 CREDITS]
Includes World History, U.S. History, Introduction to World Geography, U.S. Government, Economics, and Mississippi Studies. (Credit earned for a State/Local Government course in any other state may stand in lieu of Mississippi Studies.)

ARTS [1 CREDIT]
Visual and performing arts course meeting the requirements for high school graduation.

ADVANCED ELECTIVES [2 CREDITS]
Foreign Language I and II, Advanced World Geography, or any combination of English, mathematics, or lab-based science courses of comparable rigor and content to those required above.

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS [1/2 CREDIT]
The course should emphasize the computer as a productivity tool. Instruction should include the use of application packages, such as word processing and spreadsheets. The course should also include basic computer terminology and hardware operation.

PRE-HIGH SCHOOL UNITS [1 CREDIT]
Algebra I, first-year foreign language, or MS Studies taken prior to high school will be accepted for admission provided course content is the same as the high school course.

**Admission decisions are based on the completion of the College Prep Curriculum, GPA, and ACT or SAT scores. Students who do not meet the full admission requirements may be admitted after successfully completing the Board approved Summer Developmental Studies Program.**

Any student who was not eligible for regular admission and who has not successfully completed the Summer Developmental Program must attend an accredited institution of higher education other than those under the governance of the Board of Trustees and must attain a "C" average (2.0 GPA) on a 4.0 scale, as calculated by the adamitting IHL institution in the following 30 transferable semester credit hours to be eligible to transfer to an IHL institution.:

• 6 semester hours English Composition
• 3 semester hours College Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning, or higher level mathematics
• 6 semester hours Natural Science
• 9 semester hours Humanities and Fine Arts
• 6 semester hours of Social or Behavioral Sciences
