Delete a Page

You may delete a page anywhere you see the Delete icon Delete Icon. This includes while viewing the page on the website (after logging in to Site Builder Tools) and from any of the find page functions available in SBT.

Delete the Page
This example assumes you want to delete the page named training test.

Clicking the Delete icon Delete Icon opens this dialog, in which you:

  1. Verify the CURRENT Page: lists the page you intend to delete.

  2. Click the Delete Now! button.

As the warning in the dialog states, clicking Purge Now! is permanent . There's no going back. Therefore, even if eventually you intend to purge the page, it's highly recommended you do it in two steps. Delete it first. If this causes no problems and you're certain you want the page permanently gone, purge it.

  • If the page you delete is a container (parent) page, its subordinate (child) pages are no longer visible from the website. Further, links to them will be broken.

  • You'll get a nasty error message if you attempt to purge a container page that has a subordinate page.

Recover a Deleted Page
Pages flagged for deletion are easily recovered by changing its navigation attributes. Since you can't navigate to a deleted page from the website, using SBT's Treeview is the easiest path to accomplishing the recovery.

  1. Use Treeview to locate the deleted page (training test [1623] in this example).

  2. Click the Edit this page icon  Edit Icon.

  3. Click the Navigation option.

  4. Click the Active button.

  5. Click Publish.

  6. Recovery is complete!
