The DMI is an independent center under the College of Arts & Sciences at DSU. Our mission is to provide our students with a broad and thorough education in the technological, creative, and business areas of the music and entertainment industries.

Delta State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies degree, two concentrations of music and entertainment industry courses leading to a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree, and a concentration of courses in sound recording technology leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree with an emphasis in Sound Recording Technology (SRT).The music industry studies program, housed in the DMI, is intended to develop a broad range of skills in audio engineering technology and music industry entrepreneurship that will give students a foundational base of knowledge for working in various music industry careers.
