Delta State to celebrate 23rd annual Pig Pickin

Delta State University will celebrate its 23rd annual Pig Pickin’ on Saturday, Sept.13, in Statesmen Park located at the north side of the football stadium. Events begin at 1 p.m. prior to the Statesmen’s 6 p.m. kick-off versus Arkansas-Monticello at Parker Field-McCool Stadium.
Barbecue isn’t the only thing on the day’s menu. Activities include a KidsZone, live entertainment by Delta State’s “Ol’ Skool Revue” band, pep rally with the DSU cheerleaders, marching band, and football team.
Barbecue tickets are $5 each and are available for purchase at the Hugh Ellis Walker Alumni/Foundation House. Serving lines will be open from 3-5 p.m. In case of rain, barbecue plates will be available for pick up at the Young-Mauldin Dining Hall.
Game tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Chadwick-Dickson Field House. For more information, visit www.gostatesmen.com.
Pig Pickin’ t-shirts will go on sale Monday, Sept. 8 at the Alumni-Foundation House at the cost of $10 for short sleeve and $15 for long sleeve.
