Speakers to be featured on Earth Day

The Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Physical Sciences will be hosting two speakers for an Earth Day event beginning at 3 p.m. April 22 in Gibson Gunn Room 103.

Dr. Margaret Devall from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Stoneville, Miss. will be speaking about pondberry, a deciduous shrub that grows to approximately six feet. Her talk will cover seed and seedling dispersers and predators.

At 4 p.m., Dr. Sharon Hamilton will host Kelly Jones for a discussion on composting.

Some student research posters from the Conservation Biology class will also be displayed at the event.

The public is invited to this free event, sponsored by Beta Beta Beta, the National Biological Undergraduate Honor Society.
