Dr. Robert Hamblin, a Delta State University graduate (class of 1960), will be on campus for two presentations on March 5.  Dr. Hamblin is a wonderful poet and an internationally-known Faulkner scholar.  For many years, he has been Director of the Center for Faulkner Studies at Southeast Missouri State University, where the Brodsky Collection, the largest single collection of Faulkner memorabilia in the world, is housed and maintained.  At the First Tuesday Presentation on March 5 (held in the main gallery of the Fielding Wright art building beginning at 12:15 p.m.), Dr. Hamblin will read from his new book of poetry, Dust and Light. Later that day, he will present a lecture, “Legacies of the Battles of Ole Miss: The Meredith Crisis and the 1965 Southern Literary Festival.”  The lecture will be held in the gallery of the Capps Archives building at 7:00 p.m.  Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, call Dr. Bill Hays at 662-846-4084.
