The 2013 Janice Wyatt Mississippi Summer Arts Institute at the Bologna Performing Arts Center is now accepting applications for its annual summer camps. The Mississippi Summer Arts Institute offers exciting, educational, and immersive arts opportunities for local children ages 5-18.

Arts Camp, occurring June 16-29, is a two-week residential camp for ages 12-18 (rising 8th graders through graduating seniors). Students stay on the Delta State campus, take classes in various art forms with Delta State professors and professional teaching artists during the day, and participate in fun activities at night. Courses are offered in dance, literary arts, music, theater, and visual arts. Arts Camp culminates with a visual arts exhibition and literary arts reading, as well as a final performance which demonstrates the talents of the campers.  Scholarships are available based on financial need.

Young artists ages 5-12 (rising 7th graders) can attend PLUS Camp July 15-20, a high-energy day camp which focuses on singing, dancing, puppetry, storytelling, and prop and set design.  A final performance on July 20 showcases the hard work and dedication of our PLUS Campers.

Applications are available at the Bologna Performing Arts Center or for download online, www.bolognapac.com.  For more information, stop by the BPAC or call Whitney Cummins at 662-846-4844.
