Pianist to present guest artist recital at Delta State

The Department of Music of Delta State University will present Dr. Jungwon Anne Shin, pianist, in a guest artist recital Monday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center. 

 
This guest artist recital is given as part of the “Chopin Piano Recital Series,” celebrating the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth.
 
The recital will feature Chopin’s Nocturnes, Op. 9, Ballades, Op.23, Nos. 1 and 2, Scherzo, No.2, Op. 31, and Fantasie, Op.49. 
 
Shin began her graduate study at the Manhattan School of Music in New York in 1993. She received the Manhattan School of Music Scholarship under the tutelage of Dr. Solomon Mikowsky and Dr. Donn-Alexander Feder. After receiving her Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, she returned to Korea and taught at the Konyang University in Korea.
 
Shin was on the piano faculty of Baekseok University in Korea from 2004-2008. She returned to the United States in 2008 and currently teaches at her private studio in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
 
She is a member of the Piano Harmonia, Pi Kappa Lambda, Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and Crescendo Music Festivals.
