Dr. Virginia Webb’s Quantity Foods class visited the Sysco-Jackson warehouse in Jackson, Miss. on February 27. John Stoker, Training and Development manager for Sysco Brands, hosted the Delta State students.

A tour of the warehouse, which ships 30,000-40,000 cases daily, allowed students to learn about the industry behind the scenes.

Stoker discussed computer trends, inventory, food safety, temperature monitoring and changes in the food industry. The tour culminated in the culinary center with a presentation from chef David Ferris.
